Every dream must lay it’s head on reality.

1. Embrace the reality of now

I know one day you’ll fly a plane on Mars, but let’s start with paying your own cellphone bill. We know one day you’ll run the world but first start with paying rent so you’ll have a place to lay your head and dream. In other words, find employment to support your dream. This is an important part of the process of turning a dream into reality.

2. Get a plan, a real plan

No great invention is ever created, developed and achieved without a plan. Get a plan. Write down the plan. Stay true to the principles and processes of the plan. Execute the plan. Don’t quit on the plan because you experience setbacks or disappointments. Keep the plan alive through focus, hard work and unmatched drive.

3. Surround yourself with wise people

Keep people around you who will hold you and your dream accountable to the responsibilities of reality. Hanging with other habitual dreamers can cloud your reality. Surround yourself with people who will encourage you when you need encouragement, as well as people who will give you a kick in the ass when you need it most.

4. Embrace work

Because dictionary is the only place where success comes before work, any dream not rooted in hard work is a fantasy. Wanna achieve anything great? Be ready to work. Be a student of your craft. Embrace the grind. Go beyond expectations and make yourself an expert at what you love.

5. Embrace mental toughness

The race is not for the mentally weak. If you live in your feelings, you’ll never create a life worth living. Don’t worry about who likes you or who doesn’t, who believes in you or who doesn’t. Focus your time, attention and energy on achieving your goals. Remember if your dream is focused on popularity rather than purpose, it will become a nightmare.
